Day 299 - 152.8 - Sophie's sick again

I got a call from school this morning at 7:50 that Sophie was dizzy. She couldn't get off the bus by herself. I left her there for about 30 minutes while I got dressed and took Luke to his sitter, to make sure it was a real dizzy spell and not her just wanting to come home. It was real, and she's lying down and can't move or else she gets dizzy and feels like she's going to throw up. I've called her doctor's office. Nothing we can do, but I've asked that they talk to the neurologist about retesting her for everything again. I just don't know what else we can do.

On the positive front, my weight is stable. I was afraid I'd gained 5 pounds after the weekend, but it's still where it's been the past two months. With all the crap going on, I'm happy to be maintaining.

I did get a two mile run in while Sophie was at swim class last night. It wasn't much, but it was something and I feel better today.

I am so sorry about your daughter - that's rough. I'll send up a prayer for her and your family. Hang in there!

I wished she could get tested while she is feeling the symptoms, but I know how it is with getting into see specialists.

Hope she begins to feel better soon.

I hope Sophie feels better soon.

Not that I'm a doctor, but even without vertigo-like symptoms, swimming screws up my equilibrium.

Sorry about my delayed post...while I would have liked to fight with the drawbridge I would definintely lose that battle.

I am wondering if it is time for you to take her to Riley for consultation there. HAve you also tried making a listing of ALL the different types of specialists and then going through them with your doctor, one by one, to see things that are related to balance - like the eyes, sinuses, etc.

I was going to say something along the lines of what Wendy did. Could the swimming have an effect on her vertigo? Maybe water in her ears?

I'm so sorry to hear that she's ill again, and I hope she's better soon!

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear Sophie's sick. I agree with GC, it's too bad that they can't do an MRI of her head while she's sick as well. I hope she's feeling better soon.

Good job on the weight -- it's stressful times like these that can cause some emotional eating or poor planning. Take care of yourself too.
