My dad is going to the nursing home on Monday, August 2nd. The hospice chaplain and other family members thought we should tell him as early as possible. I thought we should tell him the day of or the day before at the earliest. But that isn't what they wanted, so we told him last Saturday. At least I got rid of the crushing guilt I had been carrying around, not being able to tell my sister when it was going to happen.
It's going to be a rough week ahead.

{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}} and prayers for your family!
It is rough, but it's a good decision, I know, my Dad's at a nursing home in hospice care. Hang in there.
this will be so much better for your sister and you both and therefore also for your husband and kids. I am sure you could write volumes (specifically on the sister) and hope that you do get some of it out, here, in the future. it will help you sort through your feelings. Very glad you posted and told us. And very good that it is helping you feel out from under.
thinking of you today and wondering how bad it is?
