For crying out loud

Golly, it's been a long time since I've journaled here. Mostly because I've not been paying any attention to myself, in a good way. I've had to give to my family, which is okay when they need me. And I've just not had the energy for myself.

At least that's my excuse.

At any rate, now that Mark has decided he's taking control of his health, has cut out his terrible habits and is hopefully conquering his itching/reactions, I feel like I can focus on me again.

So yesterday I went and joined the gym next to the office. And worked out. And worked out again today. 6 miles on the treadmill already this week. And running for 3 minutes at a time (at 5 mph no less). And food on plan.

Two days held together. Can it go on longer? For crying out loud, it freakin' better!

Laura, there will always be times in our lives when families, friends, and work do consume most of our time. The trick is when to say stop and set boundaries so we can take care of ourselves. (I think.) And you saw there was a break in the clouds and took care of yourself! Good for you!!
I'm so proud of you for all of that running that you do and taking care of yourself. It was a stressful period for you.

You need to take care of yourself too, sweetie. Your family needs a strong and healthy Laura, not a frazzled and sick one. Oddly enough, husbands and other people seem to value us less if we spend all our time catering to their needs, so give Laura some quality time.

Laura,
I hope everything is going well for you. I read your entry on Amazon last week and think it is great that you are a size 14. The next couple of months are going to be tough ones for anyone on this "weight loss/maintenance" journey. Best wishes to you and your family. Take care.
